Step by step, we've grown
Jacco’s journey at Moba shows how you can advance if you seize opportunities. He progressed from intern to skilled technician, then to all-around technician, expert, and is now a team leader. “If you prove yourself, you can really advance here.” That growth happened gradually. He was given more and more responsibility and took on new tasks step by step. “That’s how you naturally slip into the role.”
From a tangle of wires to a clear overview
The first time you stand in front of a control cabinet, you think, “Oh, so many wires—it’s such a complicated puzzle; I don’t understand any of it.” But with experience, you learn to understand the system, and the puzzle becomes clear. From building to testing, you go through the entire process. “That’s exactly what makes the work fun. You build something from start to finish and see that it works.”
New Role, New Development
Jacco is now a team leader, a role in which he continues to grow. He learns a lot by observing his own manager and fellow team leaders, and by gaining experience. “How to interact with people and get them on board—you learn that along the way. Leadership is a skill you learn through experience, but it also has to come naturally to you. I was always the captain on the soccer team, which taught me how to interact with people and take the lead.” His future? Open-ended, but ambitious. “I hope to keep moving forward; it depends on what comes my way.”
