Luco's journey at Moba

From part-time job to Product Manager

Luco works as a Product Manager at Moba. His journey at Moba began while he was still studying Mechanical Engineering. After completing his first year of Mechanical Engineering, Luco discovered that he really enjoyed the dynamics of engineering and production. During his final year of study, he was able to start working at Project Engineering (PE). Although he found this work interesting, he missed the business side of the organization. That is why he wanted to broaden his knowledge in that area and decided to further expand his technical knowledge with a master's degree in Industrial Engineering.

Luco

From study to career

After graduating, Luco contacted the Director of Marketing to find out more about the field of product management. As he was not quite ready for this position, he was able to follow a multi-year traineeship at Moba. This started in a new department within Moba, System and Sales Engineering. This was an ideal combination of commerce, technology, and the application of a product portfolio in real customer situations. "And because you are at the forefront of the company, you have a direct impact on the operating result. That appealed to me." Luco first worked as a sales engineer with one day a week in the marketing department, then he started working full-time as a product manager.

Development of his role

Luco's first impressions of the team and the working environment at Moba were very positive. The team is collegial and driven, yet still traditional. The commercial side is very committed to the customer and the customer's growth, both professionally and personally. Because you have colleagues all over the world, the work is extremely diverse and challenging. You build good relationships and have to communicate and collaborate consciously, precisely because of the international nature of the work.

He works as a product manager, but his role has since evolved into that of product marketing manager. He is concerned with the value that Moba brings to the customer's chain and deals with issues such as pricing policy and marketing strategy. The position has become much broader and offers plenty of challenges. His next challenge is an international role, which he is very much looking forward to.

Support and growth

Moba has supported Luco in his personal and professional development from the outset. The traineeship also offered training, coaching, and personal development, especially in the first year. He was paired with experienced colleagues, such as Area Sales Managers, and had permanent senior coaches within Sales and Marketing with whom he could brainstorm. Moba is open to the opportunities and ambitions of its employees. "You have to see and seize the opportunities yourself," says Luco.

Why work at Moba?

“Moba is large enough to develop yourself and small enough to make a difference,” says Luco. “You are at the intersection of customer, technology, service, and commerce. It is a fun market with fun customers and fun colleagues who are very enthusiastic. I also like the fact that you contribute to the global food chain. And in agribusiness, there is always work.”

Moba is large enough to develop yourself and small enough to make a difference.

Moba is an international company of ideal size, and there is plenty to do. Our vision is to be a business partner to our customers, and there are plenty of opportunities to further develop this.
