Your role

We are looking for a strategic buyer for our procurement department. The challenge in this role lies in improving and strengthening our procurement at the strategic level. For almost 80 years, Moba has been creating total solutions for sorting, packing, and processing eggs that are sold all over the world. Over the years, Moba has grown into a global market leader with systems in 111 different countries, processing more than 1 billion eggs every day. From design, development, production, and installation to service, it all happens in Barneveld.

As a Strategic Purchaser, you are responsible for our procurement policy. Together with four direct colleagues, you will implement our strategic procurement policy and serve as a liaison between the various stakeholders both within and outside the organization. By actively providing support early on in our processes, you will ensure that procurement specifications are quickly clarified.

What kind of specific tasks can you think of?

• Aligning business needs with market opportunities, monitoring market developments, and identifying opportunities and possibilities;
• You are the connecting factor between the global supplier market and our R&D / supply chain department, ensuring that suppliers are involved in new developments at the right time;
• Market research and a thorough selection process are used to choose suppliers, followed by negotiations. Cost price, quality, flexibility, and reliability are important considerations in this process. You will remain in close contact with our R&D department throughout this process to stay informed of current and future needs;
• Participating in make/buy arguments for modules/components;
• Developing supplier agreements, such as financial and logistical supplier conditions;
• Managing new introductions and changes in the external supply chain;
• Anticipating and preventing risks and disruptions in the external supply chain to avoid customer dissatisfaction;
• You will make agreements with suppliers regarding "performance improvement" and monitor these based on the QLTC principle;
• Developing and implementing a "continuous improvement" approach based on the lean methodology, which enables employees to work in close collaboration with colleagues (including those from other departments) in a joint process.

The procurement portfolio within the team is divided into various product groups. In this role, you will be responsible for the “Electrical” portfolio.

What we ask of you

Relevant associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain/logistics management, operations management, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering;
5 years of work experience in a similar position at an international, technology-focused company;
Knowledge or experience in electrical engineering is a strong plus. A willingness to delve into this field and learn is a requirement;
Experience with the financial and economic aspects of procurement;
Familiar with automation systems (ERP system, Word, and Excel);
Experience in an industrial (mechanical engineering) environment is an advantage;
Good command (spoken and written) of the Dutch and English languages.
