As a Trade Compliance Specialist, you play a key role in strengthening our international trading position. In a landscape of increasing regulation and geopolitical challenges, you ensure that we remain agile within these complex frameworks and can serve our customers quickly and reliably. Without compromising on compliance. Think of export control, sanctions legislation, customs regulations, and risk management. You develop policy, guide colleagues, and ensure that compliance is an integrated part of our daily operations, so that we can continue to deliver safely, on time, and in accordance with the correct regulations worldwide. As a Trade Compliance Specialist, you maintain an overview and ensure that we are 'in control'.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary Trade Compliance Team, consisting of colleagues from departments such as Sales, Export, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain. You will coordinate this team, encourage knowledge sharing, and ensure that the trade compliance policy is broadly embedded within the organization. In addition, you will be the point of contact for internal questions, provide training (in collaboration with HR), and report periodically to management on developments in international trade laws and regulations and the status of our trade compliance policy.
Your responsibilities are wide-ranging and challenging. Your tasks will include:
• Developing and maintaining our internal trade compliance policy, including procedures and guidelines;
• Ensuring compliance with EU and US export control legislation (EAR, OFAC);
• Screening customers and countries, applying for export licenses, and classifying goods;
• Managing customs processes, HS codes, and import duties;
• Organizing internal training and awareness sessions;
• Ensuring and monitoring trade compliance processes;
• Monitoring compliance risks and reporting incidents to management;
• Responsible for coordinating and conducting trade compliance audits.

What we ask of you
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in International Business, Management, Economics and Law, Logistics Management, Business Administration, or similar;
- Demonstrable experience with export control, customs processes, and/or international trade;
- Knowledge of European and US trade legislation and sanctions regimes (dual-use, EAR, OFAC);
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English;
- Proactive attitude, analytical skills, and accuracy;
- Ability to clearly explain complex regulations and translate them into practical working methods.
